About Children on Campus

Each year, thousands of children interact with West Virginia University through a variety of programs and events both on and off campus.

West Virginia University is committed to protecting children on the University's premises or involved in University sponsored programs at all geographic locations; including West Virginia University Institute of Technology, and West Virginia University Potomac State College. We've established guidelines and expectations for program and event administrators to ensure a positive environment is created which promotes health, wellness, safety and security.

The Child Protection initiative sets forth the efforts Members of the University Community are required to take to minimize the threat of child abuse, recognize the signs of child abuse, and to respond effectively should abuse be observed, suspected, or disclosed.
