West Virginia University is committed to providing for protection of children on the University’s premises or involved in University sponsored programs at all geographic locations by providing guidance on reporting requirements for Child Abuse or Neglect; providing guidelines for appropriate supervision of children; and ensuring that the University complies with all federal and state laws and regulations regarding the employment of children.

  • Board of Governors Policy 49 • Originated on April 4, 2008 • Original title of BOG Policy 49 was “Employment of Children" 
  • Title change to Board of Governors Policy 49, Children On Campus occurred on February 21, 2014 
  • Board of Governors Governance Rule 1.7 Rule On Child Protection most recently became effective on February 13, 2018
